Bear Hotel Cowbridge Wedding Photography South Wales
Wedding photography of Josie & James’ celebrations at The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge was relaxed, emotional and full of energy from start to finish. With Royal Navy traditions, sunshine, outdoor celebrations and a packed dance-floor, this was an incredible day for wedding photos in South Wales.
Wedding Photography at The Bear Hotel Cowbridge South Wales
Set in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan and easily accessible from Cardiff, The Bear Hotel Cowbridge is a favourite for couples wanting a wedding venue that combines character, great food and brilliant spaces for natural, documentary style wedding photography.
The Bear Hotel Cowbridge offers everything you could want for a relaxed South Wales wedding. A beautiful courtyard, the popular Bear Garden and a glass enclosed outdoor space mean guests can move easily between areas and enjoy the day at their own pace.Josie and James were treated to a sunny day which allowed guests to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces. This created a laid back atmosphere and plenty of natural moments which is ideal for wedding photography at The Bear Hotel Cowbridge.
An Emotional Ceremony with Royal Navy Traditions
James serves in the Royal Navy and wore his full Number Ones uniform complete with ceremonial sword. As Josie walked down the aisle, James became visibly emotional, creating one of the most powerful moments of the day and a reminder of why natural wedding photography matters so much.
After the ceremony, guests gathered in the courtyard for a traditional Arch of Swords. Josie and James walked through to cheers as the swords slowly lowered before the couple kissed. Moments later, guests followed with confetti, filling the courtyard with colour and celebration.
Cowbridge Wedding Photography on the High Street and Physic Garden
One of the best things about Bear Hotel Cowbridge wedding photography is the location itself. We took a relaxed walk down Cowbridge High Street for couple photos before heading across to the peaceful Cowbridge Physic Garden, just opposite the venue.
This combination of town and greenery allowed for natural, unposed couple portraits without taking the couple away from their guests for long. It is perfect for couples wanting relaxed wedding photography in Cowbridge and the Vale of Glamorgan.
A Cheese Wedding Cake Cut with a Sword
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Josie and James chose a tower of artisan cheeses from Ty Caws. In keeping with James naval background, the cheese cake was cut using his sword, which quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the day.
It was fun, personal and a brilliant moment for wedding photography.
Party Hours and High Energy South Wales Wedding Photography
Josie and James booked Party Hours coverage until 11pm and by that point the dancefloor was absolutely buzzing. As the night went on, a well known sailor tradition appeared and shirts began coming off on the dancefloor.
The energy never dropped and the celebration was exactly what you hope for when photographing a wedding at The Bear Hotel Cowbridge. This level of party is always a highlight for South Wales wedding photography.
