Rhossili Sunflowers in Full Bloom – Gower Engagement Photoshoot

Some absolute genius at the National Trust decided to plant fields full of sunflowers out at Rhossili on the Gower, and honestly? We owe them a huge thank you. Because when you mix a golden field in full bloom with a couple like Emma & Chris, you get absolute photo magic. This spot turned out to be the dreamiest location for their pre-wedding engagement session, and we’re still not over it.

Rhossili is already one of the most beautiful places in South Wales, with those epic coastal views and rolling hills—but the addition of these sunflowers in late summer took it to a whole new level. It felt like we’d been dropped into some kind of sun-soaked rom-com, and Emma & Chris fit the scene perfectly.

They absolutely threw themselves into the shoot. From the very first photo, they were relaxed, up for a laugh, and so clearly head-over-heels for each other. If there’s a guidebook on how to do an engagement shoot, they’d be the cover couple. They didn’t overthink it—they just laughed, hugged, danced between the flowers (with a little light direction from me), and let themselves have fun. That’s when the best photos happen.

And yes, we all got a little scratched from the stalks, and there may have been a few dramatic bee-dodging moments, but it was completely worth it to chase that warm golden light.

These two are getting married soon at St Mary’s Church in Pennard, followed by their reception at Pennard Golf Club—which just so happens to be the exact place they first met. Full circle vibes? Yes please.

We cannot wait to capture their wedding day, but for now, this golden, joy-filled, flower-covered engagement shoot is one we’ll be dreaming about for a long time. If you're considering a pre-wedding session in South Wales, add Rhossili to your list. And definitely don’t wait too long—those blooms are only around for a short time, but wow, they’re worth it.
