Guess what? Menan and Meenu's love story hit a whole new level recently with a surprise proposal at Truffles Restaurant in Swansea! These lovebirds had their first date at Truffles, and fast forward to now, Menan popped the question at the same spot.
Picture this: Truffles staff had been scattering petals, lightning candles and sharing in the built up nerves we all felt, not used to working so covertly. Looking like a scene out of a film, the ultra romantic set was ready and we could see the couple walking towards the door, Meenu was oblivious to us.
I (Amy) was incognito at a nearby table, cameras ready to capture the magic but currently hidden behind menus. When Meenu walked in and saw the petals leading to the same table they shared their first date at; she was visibly hit by the scene, bubbling with emotion. Menan could tell she knew this was the moment and quicker than expected, he dropped to one knee to make his proposal.
The proposal happened so quickly, and thankfully, we caught it all on camera unobtrusively, with a silent camera shutter and a phone recording video - the tears, the smiles, the ring going on! And the answer was a big YES, obviously.
After the heart-fluttering proposal, we headed to Victoria Gardens for some photos. And just when you thought the surprises were over, Menan had arranged for both families to be there to celebrate! Cue champagne popping and more tears.
