Haunted castle wedding photography in Wales.
International wedding in Wales with a haunted castle and photos to match. Liam & Mel’s wedding day at Craig Y Nos Castle.
When Mel & Liam planned their wedding photography for their special day at Craig Y Nos Castle, they couldn't wait to dive into the hidden, off-limits areas of the castle that most guests never get to see! These parts were usually reserved for haunted ghost tours, adding an extra layer of excitement to their big day. And let me tell you, just looking at the area in the wedding video gave off some seriously spooky vibes! Picture a dark, shadowy corner with a directional spotlight illuminating the wedding couple - creating the perfect backdrop for some eerie yet playful wedding photographs.
With Mel hailing from the U.S. and having a lot of family fly in for the celebration in Wales, they aimed for a grand, casual affair woven with their vibrant peacock color scheme. The colors blended seamlessly with Mel’s stunning bridal bouquet that was a boho mix of bunny tails, peacock feathers, and pampas grasses.
Craig Y Nos Castle has quite the history, notably during the time when Adelina Patti owned it and even had a theatre where she dazzled audiences with her operatic performances. The castle's spookier side might stem from its days as a hospital for TB patients, but the remnants of the theatre add a touch of mystery to the weddings held there. Nowadays, it serves as the enchanting backdrop for couples tying the knot, mingling its rich history with a hint of ghostly presence.
Exploring the uncared-for nooks and crannies of the castle was a playground for us inspirationally. The dusty cobwebs and eerie atmosphere truly sparked our creativity, pushing us to come up with innovative ideas to maximize the unique space for unforgettable wedding shots. It was a thrill to venture into the unknown and harness the Castle's creepy charm that Mel & Liam were excited for.
