Wedding Photography & Wedding Videography; Frequently asked questions.

Do you have my wedding date free ?

To find out if we have your date available, please pop us an email to: - Call us: 07908258363 - Or message us via our page We always reply as quickly as possible.

How far ahead of my date should I book my wedding photography & wedding videography?

This is entirely a personal choice, a majority of bookings tend to be 12-18 months in advance but as long as we have your date available - you can book at any time, up to 3 years in advance.
The closest booking we have ever had before a wedding date, was 3 days before the wedding date but we regularly have couples 4-7 months before who are booking a ‘whirling package’ with local venues.

How much deposit do you require to secure a book for wedding photography &/or videography?

£250 to secure the date; the remaining balance is due one month before the wedding date, whether you book photography, videography or both - the deposit is £250. This is a part-payment towards your wedding and is non refundable. At the same time a contract is provided with all the terms & conditions.

How many times will we meet the photographer &/or videographer before the wedding day?

In general, it tends to be an initial wedding consultation at the time of booking and another meeting a couple of weeks before the big day to discuss the timings, picture ideas, group list. We are always at the end of the telephone or a message/text if you have any worries, concerns or ideas at any time. Amy is who you will meet at all the meetings, she will have all the Jorgensen albums to show you too.

What if it isn’t possible to meet beforehand?

If circumstances don’t allow us to meet beforehand, for instance if you work away or live over 45 minutes drive away from us then it may not be possible to meet. This isn’t new to us, we have had couples from places as far as Essex or Manchester in the UK want to book and due to the distance meeting just hasn't been possible. Phone calls, texts, messaging if brilliant in these instances and we will send you all the information digitally and ask you to create lists for your group shots, timings, requirements - everything we would normally discuss in a meeting. There is no need to worry if you can’t meet us beforehand, we always arrive early to get our bearings and introduce ourselves.

Will you travel for our wedding?

Yes, we love to travel. If it is within the UK & more than 1.5 hours away from Swansea, we will charge a set travel fee agreed beforehand & for travel more than 2.5 hours by car, we will ask for a basic room in a hotel/b&b.

For international destination weddings in Europe & further - the price is the same as listed in the wedding pages, we simply require a budget flight and two nights accommodation in one room.

Do you supply a wedding contract?

Yes, this will be supplied digitally on booking, this can be signed on your smartphone or tablet using your finger for ease. This states all terms and conditions, please read it carefully - it is legally binding for your assurance.

How long will my wedding film be?

This depends on your wedding day, what length of time you book us for, the length of your ceremony, the length of your speeches, what entertainment you have etc.
In previous weddings, some church ceremonies have lasted over an hour, whereas we have experienced non-religious ceremonies lasting only 9 minutes - so you can imagine how this would affect the length overall.
An average length to expect would be around an hour.

The highlights video is an edit of the best bits of the day set to music, this can also vary from 2-5 minutes.

Can we go for photographs away from the wedding venue?

Yes of course, beaches, forests, mountains tops, we will go anywhere, even if it's a little crazy (we love crazy).
If taking time out from your guests to leave for photographs, make sure you leave enough time to mingle with them before food etc

How long is bridal preparation?

We offer two hours for bridal preparation plus travel. We prefer to cover the more final stages of the hair and makeup being finished, the dress being laced up, the brides reveal to family/bridal party etc.
We have always found this plenty of time to cover the above as well as the beautiful details and fun of getting ready. If you would like more time, this can be arranged for a small additional fee.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we hold public liability, personal and equipment insurance. These certificates are available on request, sometimes venues require them.

Can we choose our own music for the DVDs (Videography only)?

Yes, you can choose your music for your full length wedding film on your DVDs but only for use at your/families home TVs.
For the highlights that we put online, this music must be licensed. We use a website called Song Freedom to purchase song licenses, these are normally lesser known singer song writers, however there are more well known tracks available but the cost increase would be payable by the couple. Feel free to look at the tracks on the website to see if there's any you fancy- there's new ones added all the time.

Can I have the RAW files / video footage to edit myself?

No, RAW files will never be handed over in any circumstance. Only editing by Flashbulb photography & film is permitted.
This also applies to original video footage.
Any editing including cropping or removal or watermarks is considered a breach of copyright and against the terms of our contract.

Can I have a refund on my deposit if I change my mind?

No, the deposit is non refundable. A deposit will only be refunded if Flashbulb Photography & Film need to cancel under exceptional circumstances. Further details are in the full contract terms & conditions - this is available to view on request.
In circumstances where we can accommodate a change of date, we will endeavour to do so but it is not guaranteed.

How long will it take until I receive my imagery?

As stated in the terms & conditions, the images will take 8-12 weeks to be edited and uploaded into an online gallery or for films to be sent via DVD.
From here, you can choose your album images or if you haven't selected an album, the USB will be sent.

When will I receive my album?

Once you receive your digital images, I allow you as much time as you need to choose your images. A proof will then be created for you to check and the album will be ordered from there.

How many photographs will I receive?

This very much depends on your day, what package you book, the weather and how much is going on. Every wedding is different but the average full day is around 400. The amount of photographs taken or edited is not limited.

Do you require a meal on the day?

Yes please, a hot meal is required for each person. However, we ask not to be sat formally with the guests- at the bar etc is just great because this is when we take a break, charge batteries, empty memory cards etc

Who owns the copyright?

Flashbulb will always remain owners of the copyright to any imagery. Print rights are given for photographs - this allows you to print them as much and as large as you like. Any use on social media/blogs etc should tag @flashbulbwales as a credit.
Further details are in the terms & conditions.

Can I pay my wedding balance early?

Due to previous problems, any monies received in advance before it is due will be non refundable, unless Flashbulb Photography & film cancel under extreme circumstances. We are a small business and do not have the sources to keep monies aside.
