Urban pre-wedding engagement urban photos.

Taking inspiration from the "uninspiring". Urban engagement photography in Swansea’s undesirable High Street.

Dylan Thomas called Swansea "an ugly, lovely town". I'd call it... a pretty shitty city.

A famous quote from the film Twin Town... Well, In my opinion, it isn’t ugly but is does have parts that are a little rough around the edges and they work great for a little more of a rustic urban backdrop for a pre-wedding shoot.

After an inspiring workshop at Photography farm in Edinburgh my imagination was burning holes in my brain. Filled with ideas of symmetry and new ways of lighting couples, my guinea pigs Jenna & Dan were very willing, if only a little cold! I'd already spotted a few areas I wanted to try but the great thing about walking with a couple, is finding inspiration along the way like the painted boarded up shop. It is also a great way to relax, if you're walking and talking, you're busy and pretty much forget the camera.

After a drink and chat to go through their final wedding details, we left the warmth of the Coffee shop to start our loop, walking around Parc Tawe, up through High Street Car park (not advised, it stinks of wee) down High street and back through Parc Tawe via the bridge that joins it to Castle Street.
