Wedding photographs and wedding videography from this beautiful day at Rosedew farm venue near Cardiff.
Combining a New Year’s Eve knees-up with wedding festivities, bringing together all of your family and friends for one momentous sized celebration, was definitely in Ceri & David’s intentions. Along with the fact that NYE was the very night that they originally met, adds that extra bit of magic.
Rosedew Farm is a family run wedding venue near Llantwit Major and the thoughtful extra details demonstrate it: smiling staff, moreish canapes, and even some assistance in sparkler lighting duties. The entire wedding would take place there, in the converted barns, and it is the real deal! The original stone structure is beautifully maintained and the simple whitewash on the walls makes it light and airy.
From above, a cluster of huge paper stars were strung from the rafters. From below, lining the aisle, huge white balloons strained upwards. Festive enough for a NYE wedding, but muted enough to keep it classy with the added sparkle from numerous disco balls dotted about! But both bride and groom managed it with their appearance too; Ceri with her Hollywood heyday chignon hairstyle and David in a velvet claret tuxedo referred to during the best-man’s speech as “looking like Kevin Bacon in Footloose.”
It’s quite the privilege to see such a rare mix of honour, pride and delight cross someone’s face; even better when I know we have captured a truly beautiful moment as Ceri’s father Emrys set his eyes upon his only daughter in her bridal gown. The bond between father and daughter was clearly palpable throughout the day.
It became obvious to us, that David’s snake hip dancing was his very well known signature move; there are worse things to be known for and he didn’t leave the dance floor area all night! The well known scene from the Will Smith movie “Hitch” inspired a Soul train line (a variant of the 1950s fad then known as The Stroll), in which all the dancers form two lines with a space in the middle for dancers to strut down, throwing out all their best shapes.
From dance tunnels to sparkler tunnels, guests could mingle inside and out. The Rosedew farm barn was a spectacular view from the outside, disco lights bouncing off walls, silhouettes of dancers moving in all directions and lit up by a toasty bonfire for guests to warm their hands in the cold December night.
Merriment intensified for the midnight countdown: flashing glasses appeared on faces, kisses were had, hugs thrown in all directions, glasses of fizzy stuff raised and it seemed impossible that 2022 could offer anything but magic for this family.
