Swansea Wedding Photography at Oldwalls Gower – Sian & Andy’s Joyful Summer Celebration
As Swansea wedding photographers and videographers, we always love a trip to Oldwalls Gower. It's one of those South Wales wedding venues that just ticks every box—gorgeous views, stylish interiors, and space for the celebration to unfold naturally. Sian and Andy’s summer wedding was a shining example of why it’s such a favourite.
We first met Sian and Andy at their pre-wedding shoot on the clifftops of Rhossili headland, overlooking Worm’s Head. It was great to reconnect with them on the big day—and fun fact: Jess (the videographer half of our duo) actually worked with Andy back in the day at HMV!
Bridal Prep photos & videos in Pontarddulais
We kicked off the day at Sian’s mum’s house in Pontarddulais, and it was full of energy—bridal party, parents, kids, makeup, hair, and excitement all in full swing. Sian was in the expert hands of hairstylist Zoe Williams and makeup artist Laura Jayne James, and looked incredible in her strapless gown from The Bridal Den. It was fitted with a slight flare at the hem, creating a beautiful silhouette in both photo and film.
Her dried flower bouquet and venue styling were created by The Wedding Business, with tones that perfectly matched the bridesmaids' blush pink dresses.
All Aboard the Vintage Wedding Transport
The bridal party travelled to the venue in a vintage coach, while Sian and her dad followed in a beautiful 1930s vintage car—both hired from Champagne Wedding Cars. Meanwhile, we caught up with Andy at Oldwalls, looking very sharp in a navy suit with a grey waistcoat and blush pink tie, along with his groomsmen in matching looks hired from Formal Hire.
Wedding Ceremony in The Oakroom at Oldwalls Gower
The ceremony took place in the Oakroom, one of the most atmospheric indoor ceremony spaces in South Wales. With its vaulted oak-beamed ceiling, fairy lights, and full-length windows offering views of the lakes, it’s a dream to photograph. Sian walked down the aisle with her dad, and the ceremony was full of love, laughter and happy tears.
Afterwards, we all headed outside for a brilliant confetti moment on the lawn. Guests then relaxed in the bar and terrace for a drinks reception in the sunshine, while being serenaded by Steve Sax—who had everyone, including the little ones, up dancing!
Natural & Romantic Wedding Photography at Oldwalls
While guests enjoyed their fizz and sunshine, we whisked Sian and Andy away for a quick stroll around the grounds. We got some beautifully romantic portraits by the lake, under the trees, and across the fields. Our favourite? A reflection shot of them on the little bridge with the bright blue sky above—absolute magic.
Back inside, Sian and Andy snuck a cheeky shot at the bar before making their big entrance into the reception to rapturous applause. The speeches—by Sian’s dad Jason, Andy, and best man Rhydian—were heartfelt and hilarious, followed by a delicious meal cooked up by Oldwalls' in-house chefs.
Guests returned to the terrace to enjoy the evening sunshine, and the garden swing seats proved popular with kids and grown-ups alike!
Dancefloor Moments & That Perfect Farewell Shot
The evening began with the cake cutting—an elegant four-tiered design by Bella Cakes—followed by Sian and Andy’s first dance in front of their lit-up LOVE letters, which made for the perfect glowing backdrop. The dancefloor quickly filled as Coverland took over, keeping the party alive with their live set.
As the party hit full swing, we got some fantastic dancefloor shots and then packed up, heading out just in time to spot the most incredible rainbow arching over the Gower. Naturally, we stopped and captured it. The perfect closing image to a truly colourful, joy-filled day.
A Huge Shoutout to the Oldwalls Gower Team
A final note of appreciation to the team at Oldwalls Gower. Sian and Andy had originally booked their wedding at Ocean View, but a devastating fire just weeks before meant they had to make a last-minute change. Oldwalls stepped up and made sure their day was absolutely unforgettable.
(And good news—Ocean View is now back, better than ever!)
Sian & Andy, thank you for trusting us to capture your day. A fun, relaxed, family-filled wedding with the loveliest people in a stunning setting—we couldn’t have asked for more.
