Sian and Andy chose an amazing wedding venue for their summer wedding.
We first met Sian and Andy when we captured their pre wedding shoot at Rhossili headland looking over Worms head on the Gower Peninsula.  So, it was great to see them again.  I should say first met them as a couple, as we realised that Jess (the videographer half of our team of two!) worked with Andy many many moons ago at HMV!

On Sian and Andy’s wedding day, we were blessed with full sunshine.  We headed straight to Sian’s mums house in Pontarddulais to capture the bridal preparations.  We were met with a hive of activity with Sian, her parents, her young daughter Harper, young nephew and the rest of her bridal party all getting ready.  Sian was in the capable hands of hair stylist Zoe Williams and make-up artist Laura Jayne James.

Sian looked stunning in a strapless dress with a column shape skirt that perfectly fitted her petite frame.  It fanned out a little at the bottom giving Sian an amazing silhouette in all of our images and film.  Sian bought the dress at The Bridal Den.  It was complemented with a pretty bouquet of dry flowers created by The Wedding Business who were also the venue dressers on the day.

Bridesmaids looked elegant in pink.  I want to mention the youngest members of the wedding party, Sian and Andy’s daughter Harper.  She was one of two very sweet and very well-behaved flower girls, along with Sian’s young niece who made a lovely bridesmaid and lastly Sian’s young nephew who made the cutest page boy ever.

The bridal party travelled to Oldwalls in a fantastic vintage coach, with Sian and her dad travelling behind in vintage 1930’s car, both cars were hired from Champagne Wedding Cars

When we got to Oldwalls, we caught up with Andy who was looking very smart in a dark blue suit with a grey waist coat and pink tie.  His grooms party had the same dark blue suits on which they’d all hired from Formal Hire.

The wedding ceremony was held in the atmospheric Oakroom.  This stunning room has a high oak beamed ceiling adorned with twinkling lights.  It also has a ceiling to floor feature window offering enviable views across the lakes.  It really is a truly idyllic setting for a romantic wedding ceremony.

After a gorgeous ceremony, Sian and Andy headed back outside for a fantastic confetti moment that we captured perfectly.

Guests then enjoyed a drinks reception in the bar that opens out onto the terrace, allowing Sian and Andy’s guests to spill outside and enjoy a drink in the sunshine.  They were entertained by Saxophonist Steve Sax who’s playing was greatly appreciated by everyone, especially the children who got up to dance.  The vibe was so lovely and chilled and we got some really great film and images of Sian, Andy and their guests really enjoying themselves.

With their guests happily catered for, we whisked Sian and Andy away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the grounds of Oldwalls Gower.  The images we got of them by the lake, walking across the fields and under the tree were so romantic.  Though our favourite was the reflection image of Sian and Andy on the little bridge with the bright blue skies above.

We then headed back to join Sian and Andy’s guests for the wedding reception, and saw them take a cheeky shot at the bar before making an entrance to rapturous applause.  There followed some very well received speeches from Sian’s dad Jason, Andy and best man Rhydian, before everybody enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast prepared by Oldwalls Gower’s award-winning in-house team of chefs.

After the meal, guests went back outside to enjoy the evening sunshine.  And the garden swing seats proved to be irresistible to the young and let’s face it, not so young guests!

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of an elegant four-tiered wedding cake made by Bella Cakes, followed by a romantic first dance, in front of some large LOVE lit up signs which made a great backdrop in our images.  Sian and Andy’s guest were keen to join them on the dancefloor and wedding band Coverland were there to make sure the dancefloor remained full all evening.

As the party was well underway, and we’d got some great dancefloor footage and images, it was time for us to take our leave.  As we drove away and looked back towards Gower, we saw the most stunning rainbow, and stopped to capture it.  It was the perfect image to close the story of Sian and Andy’s colourful and joyous wedding day.

A fun, family friendly, laid-back wedding at a stunning venue.  Sian and Andy’s wedding was a joy to capture.

We’d like to lastly give a mention to the fantastic team at Oldwalls Gower.  Sian and Andy had originally booked to have their wedding at a different wedding venue, Ocean View, but sadly, it had a big fire a few weeks before and had to close.  Oldwalls Gower were able to do the date and they really stepped up for these guys and delivered them a simply stunning wedding.  Thankfully, Ocean View is now back better than ever!
