Oldwalls Gower Wedding Photographers – Jess & Alex’s day in film

As creative, fun South Wales wedding photographers and videographers, we get to work at the very best wedding venues in South Wales.  And this is certainly the case when we return to capture wedding photos and films at Oldwalls Gower.

The Oldwalls Collection are a group of simply stunning wedding venues that create beautifully bespoke weddings in stunning locations including Fairyhill and Sant Ffraed.  Jess and Alex chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding in South Wales.

We first met Jess and Alex when we captured their pre wedding photoshoot at Cefn Bryn, looking over Oxwich.  It was where they got engaged so was the obvious location for the engagement photoshoot.

On their wedding day we woke to full sunshine, and headed to Jess’s home to capture those all-important bridal prep images.  The girls were in great spirits and there was a bit of medicinal bubbly doing the rounds.  We got some great images of Jess, her mum and her bridesmaids in the garden in their co-ordinated robes.

Once dressed, Jess looked stunning in a low backed v neck dress with exquisite antique lace detail that she bought at Timeless Elegance Bridal Boutique in Cardiff.  The skirt had beautiful soft layers that gave Jess a romantic floaty look.  Jess’s hair had been gorgeously braided by Kayleigh from Kayleigh Sterio Hairup and it suited her look perfectly.  The bridesmaids looked elegant in pale blue dresses.

Before leaving, we got some great images of Jess all ready to go, including a sweet and emotional father seeing the bride moment.

We then headed to Oldwalls Gower to catch up with Alex and his groom’s party.  With Jess travelling behind in a gorgeous vintage VW van which had been loaned to them for the day by a family friend.

On arrival, we caught up with Alex and his grooms party who all looked very smart in petrol blue three-piece suits with brown brogues.

The wedding ceremony was held in Oldwalls Gower’s beautiful oak room.  This charming and rustic space, has oak beams and feature ceiling to floor windows that provide beautiful views of the gardens.  As well as, flooding the space with tons of natural light.

Storytelling wedding photography in South Wales

After a lovely ceremony, there was a fun confetti moment outside, before everybody enjoyed a drinks reception in Oldwalls Gower’s beautiful gardens.  And we took our chance to get some great candid images of everybody relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.  The swing seat and oversized wooden chair proved to be very popular with the youngest guests, and some of the not so young guests as well!

With guests happily catered for, we took Jess and Alex for a mini photoshoot around the stunning gardens at Oldwalls Gower.  Jess and Alex were so chilled out and fun to work with and we got some great images and film.  The images we got of them sitting on the VW campervan, which actually matched our branding in colour.

We also got some lovely images of the wedding party as well as some sweet ones of Alex and his beloved dog, who was simply thrilled to be there!

The wedding reception was held in Oldwalls Gower’s magnificent marquee.  This state-of-the-art marquee is so chic it looks more like an elegant glasshouse.

After desserts, Jess’s parents surprised everybody by having booked wedding singers.  They went down a storm, with everybody singing along with gusto and at one point forming a conga that went all the way around the room, outside and back in again!  It was so much fun and a joy to capture in images and film.

Natural and creative Gower wedding photography

Once everybody had sat down again, and got their breath back! There were some very well received speeches given by Jess’s dad Richard, Alex’s dad Joe, by Alex and by the best man, Tom.

Afterwards, as the sun was still shining, many guests spilled back outside, where there was space for young and canine legs to run about, and for others to partake in an outdoor game of beer pong!

For evening celebrations, the marquee reveals a hidden dancefloor and state of the art lighting system, which were perfect for Jess and Alex’s atmospheric first dance.  As guests began to relax into the evening celebrations, we quickly whisked Jess and Alex outside to get some romantic portrait images of them in the fairy lit gardens.

Everybody partied on with the celebrations culminating in a fantastic fireworks display, finishing off a laidback, fun, family friendly wedding, at a stunning wedding venue.  Congratulations again to Jess and Alex!
