Intimate wedding photography - Mumbles Pier, South Wales.
A small intimate wedding in South Wales.
Ric & Soph's indie wedding day photography at Mumbles Pier with a relaxed atmosphere.
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”
This quote from Leonardo De Vinci sums up Ric & Soph’s chilled wedding vibes to a tee. Plus I love it because... Soph, sophistication... get it?? 😂
A gentle strumming of the guitar lead Sophie down the aisle in her beautiful French connection bridal dress to her awaiting husband to be Riccardo, looking a little too cool in his burgundy Dr Martens!
With the ceremony at Swansea’s registry office being the only formality of the day to say the I dos. The rest of the day simply flowed with perfect informality - no speeches, no first dance, no formal photographs, no cake cutting - just a pure celebration of their marriage and a whole lot of fun. It allows me (Amy) as a photographer to do what I do best, wander with a camera in hand!
Sophie’s childhood home opened up to all the guests for buckets of beer, a homemade buffet that never ended, pop up gazebos and a fire pit to sit back, relax and let the garden party begin for the afternoon.
It doesn’t even end there, building the atmosphere gradually, they shuttled all the guests via a bus onto the evening wedding reception at Mumbles pier to get the party started, kicked off by a rock & roll band for dancing into the night!

Why did you pick Flashbulb to photograph your wedding day? : Their photography is first class!
Tell us your "love" story We met in a club when we were 17 and became good friends for many years. We both moved away to different countries and met up one Christmas holiday back at home and our love was kindled!
The engagement proposal !!! We were on holiday in South Africa visiting Ric's family. We got up with the sun at 5am to go visit the place where Ric used to fish with his dad. I had no idea and just thought we were there to watch the sun rise and catch some fish. Ric proposed there on the rocks. I felt so honoured to now be a part of that special place for Ric.
What made you choose Mumbles Pier for your wedding venue in Swansea? : We had our reception at Mumbles Pier. We loved the feel of the space and the decor. But most of all you can't beat the panoramic views of Swansea bay.
The wedding day theme: We are having a very relaxed theme with country cottage flowers, bunting, tea lights and a rock and roll band.
What happens next as newlyweds? : Back to normal! Pinball and park weekends with a South African road trip to look forward to in the summer.
