Brangwyn hall & Marquee wedding reception photos in Swansea

Swansea wedding ceremony photography at Brangwyn hall

Sam and Paul’s wedding in Swansea was truly one to remember, especially since it fell on the hottest day of the year! Not to mention, it was July 4th, Independence Day—although, no direct correlation between the two, this special day turned out to be full of unforgettable moments.

The wedding ceremony took place at the stunning Brangwyn Hall, one of Swansea's most iconic venues. As the couple exchanged vows, it wasn’t just their love that stole the spotlight—Lola, their adorable dog, made a grand entrance by walking Sam down the aisle. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from this wedding, it’s that there should be a dog at every wedding! Lola’s sweet presence brought a relaxed and heartwarming touch to the ceremony.

Relaxed Vibes & Fun Moments
The tone for the day was set with a casual, yet stylish atmosphere. Sam and Paul's groomsmen wore Converse sneakers, a fun contrast to the formal occasion. The couple had a lovely personal touch with a bow tie on their friends' VW camper van, adding a laid-back and quirky vibe to the celebration. The wedding breakfast began with delightful cured meats and olive platters, ensuring guests were well-fed and relaxed.

As for entertainment, nothing could top the energy of Fat Barry’s Soul Band. Their lively tunes had everyone on the dance floor, setting the scene for what would become an incredible celebration that carried on long into the evening.

A Marquee Wedding Reception in the South Gower Rugby Club Field
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to a marquee reception set up in the South Gower Rugby Club field in Bishopton. With the summer sun shining brightly, guests enjoyed some cold, refreshing beer—making for the perfect summer party atmosphere! The open field and spacious marquee allowed everyone to enjoy the sunshine, and it quickly became clear this was a wedding full of fun, laughter, and a little bit of dance-floor magic.

A Memorable Photo at Swansea Bay
One of the standout images from the day is Sam and Paul walking hand-in-hand along Swansea Bay. It has since become one of my favorite framed photos, exhibited at multiple wedding fayres. Interestingly, many people have asked where this wedding was held, often mistaking the view for a foreign location—until they notice the iconic Mumbles Head in the distance. That moment captures the essence of this Swansea wedding: a perfect blend of beauty, simplicity, and local charm.
