Great British Bake off, rabbit themed, dog featuring wet wedding extravaganza at the Oxwich bay hotel. in Swansea, South Wales.

When choosing your life partner, I think a solid surname is a vital part of the decision. I mean, you don’t want to end up taking a name like poor old Tracey, who married the love of her life and became Tracey Wacey. (True story, sorry Tracey!)

Equally, high fives to those deciding not to take their partner’s name or double barrelling.

BUT in the marriage of Kelly & Tom, if they hadn’t been together since school, one could assume that she was marrying him for the name. RABBITT!!! Please please have a baby and call them Peter. (Or at least another dog!)

Naturally, their wedding theme worked around this name theme too. Table favours were laser etched rabbits which doubled up as place-names inscribed with each guest’s name. Of course Tom, the groom, wore the cutest silver rabbit pin on his suit lapel.

But best of all, the Bake Off wedding edition, cake competition which featured a carrot cake (rabbits love carrots), also the bakers were awarded wooden spoons etched with rabbits. I say best of all, because this is an absolutely genius idea to get an overwhelming amount of free cake for your wedding day.

And seemably all of their guests were invited for their ability to bake. Every single cake was absolutely flawless, so highly detailed that the beach entry featured a beach umbrella and books in the sand. A close second best reason is that they were completely spoilt for choice when it came to the cake cutting later in the evening!

I can’t write this blog without mentioning Tom replacing his best-man with his best dog, Mocha. She even had a dog bandana stating her title.  As you’ll see if you keep scrolling, she also features in the pre wedding shoot at Port Einon and in their wedding photos on Oxwich beach.

“ My mums favourite one is of Mocha in the Camper van where our heads are cut, just brilliant!!! “ - Tom.

Having their dog at the wedding was successful until mid way through the ceremony, when Mocha slipped her lead. I can only assume her thought process consisted of being far too over excited when she saw her mum (aka the bride) walking down the aisle and not getting a satisfactory face licking hello, the urge got too strong and she just NEEDED to tell her just how pretty she looked.

The actual best-man’s superb reflexes caught Mocha mid jump and the whole room erupted into hysterics. As you’ll be able to tell from the wedding photos and video below, this laughter was infectious and did not stop all day or night. Kelly & Tom giggled their way through their personalised vows and belly laughed through a hilarious rendition of George Ezra’s Paradise with the key words written on boards and held up at the appropriate time by the bridal party. (Although you couldn’t fault their enthusiasm, the timing could have been better, although this wouldn’t have made it half as entertaining. )

These high spirits never faltered, impressive considering this was one of those days where the wind and rain did not hesitate for a second to persist in trying to send everything awry. Under the cover of Oxwich’s warm marquee, and filled up to the brim with cake, their wedding day was an absolute triumph. The dance-floor filled up and stayed that way, limbs flying everywhere  and letting loose as we left for the evening thinking that these guests will leaving having had one of the best days of their lives.

I really want to end with a quote about being at it like rabbits. But I really shouldn’t.
